Week 1: Counters

This week we will focus on cleaning off all counter spaces in the kitchen.

If it doesn't take you all week to go through your counters, that's ok!  When you have extra time left over go back to the "sort later" areas and get them started.  Another option is to use this time and go through one of your Tidy-Up Cards.

First two 15-Minute Session
I wanted to share this session because, as you can see in the before/after pics, visibly it isn't a huge difference.  However, when you look at my piles on the floor, you can see that there was a lot of sorting and organizing that happened during this session.

Here's the starting picture.  The counter was cluttered and a few small appliances were out of place.

This was after the first 15-minute session.  I cleaned up some of the items left out on the counter and sorted through some of the containers.

This was after the second 15-minute session.  Appliances were put away, more counter space was found.  I cleaned up the area on the far right (bread box) and also cleaned up a little underneath the counter on the left side (can't see in pic).

First two 15-Minute Session
These are the first two 15-minute sessions that I did one right after the other.

This picture shows the starting point for these bookshelves.  For my first 15-minute session, I chose to focus on the shelf on the right.

I used my sorting labels and decided what category each item goes into.  This was contents from one of the brown baskets and one of the totes. (with exception of my paper box that I continually add to of papers to sort through later).

This was the difference after just one 15-minute session.

Things To Do When You Feel Stuck
What happens when you are feeling stuck & don't know what to do next?
  1. If it's a mind block, try doing the 60 second reset.
  2. Grab a Tidy-Up Card and choose something off of it.
  3. Take a moment to stand back and look at the space.  Then choose an area that is less overwhelming.
*Use these steps if you get done with the area before the week is over.  You can either choose another area to get a jump start on or use a Tidy-Up Card for any area in your home.
Week 2: Cabinets

Each day this week:

Week 3: Pantry

This week we will tackle other areas of the living room:
Coffee/end table (especially if they have storage spaces)
Other storage areas (decorative baskets, hutch, cabinets, etc)
Paper Clutter (maybe some of your "sort later" piles)

Week 4: Organize

This week it's time to organize what is staying in the room.  If you haven't already, now is a great time to take this quiz: https://clutterbug.me/what-clutterbug-are-you-test
I'd love to know what you are, so please email/text me and let me know!  This will help me to help you better if you get stuck along the way.

Other Areas:

If you find that you have extra time during one of the detailed weeks, try going through these areas:
Refrigerator
Freezer
Cleaning Supplies
Tidy-Up Cards
